Summary
As a little girl, Harper often found herself gazing up the stars imagining herself on a starship among them. She was always intrigued by things she couldn’t understand. She found herself constantly involved in experiments much to the dismay of her parents. Her father worked as a High School History Teacher and her mother a nurse at the local hospital. Harper worked hard to get in Starfleet Academy and graduated among the top of her class. She focused on honing her craft and even took pride in helping those around her. Harper has spent the last ten years aboard Starfleet starships serving as a Science Officer in various different capacities. Her hard work has finally paid off as she has just recently been named Captain and given the command of the USS Sausalito.

Personality
Harper is known to be one of the smartest people in the room. She takes pride in her work and strives to be the best of the best. She often finds herself lost in thought which often makes her appear socially awkward to those around her. Harper works hard each and every day to learn as much as she can. She has a very dry sense of humor and often finds herself being the only one laughing at her jokes. Although she often finds herself in solitude due to her scientific studies, she prefers the company of others and takes joy in helping and teaching those around her.
History
Early Life (2367 – 2400)
Harper N. Brooks, born on August 10, 2367, is a curious individual with a passion for all things science. Growing up in the city of Atlanta, Harper was surrounded by a loving and supportive family that encouraged her to pursue her dreams. She dreamed of exploring amongst the stars for as long as she could remember.
Her father, Terry Brooks, a High School History Teacher, and her mother, Hannah Brooks, a tender-hearted nurse, taught her to work hard and learn something new everyday.
As a child, she would spend most of her time exploring the wonders of science, engrossed in books about astrophysics, exobiology, and quantum mechanics.
Throughout her school years, Harper excelled in her studies, particularly in the fields of physics, chemistry, and zoology. Harper knew at a young age that she one day wanted to join Starfleet and further explore her curiosities.
Starfleet Academy (2387 – 2392)
As Harper entered her first year at Starfleet Academy, pursuing an four-year science program, she embraced the opportunity to specialize in astrophysics. Immersed in a rich academic environment, she eagerly delved into astrometrics, astrophysics, astrosciences, geophysics, hydroponics, planetary geosciences, and quantum mechanics.
While Harper studied and immersed herself in scientific courses, she found herself yearning for the bridge of a starship, where the action and excitement of exploration unfolded. She envisioned herself using her scientific expertise to make an impact on the communities located through Starfleet space and help those where she would be able.
As Harper progressed through her cadet years, absorbing every bit of knowledge and immersing herself in the vibrant community of aspiring Starfleet officers, she eagerly awaits the day she receives her first assignment on a starship. Harper dreams of the day that she will be able to lead her own crew and make new scientific discoveries, but looks forward to serving and learning underneath another captain until that time.
Starfleet Career (2392-Present)
Harper was assigned to the USS Horizon straight out the Starfleet Academy as a Junior Science Officer. She spent a great deal of her time learning and being mentored by Commander Archeron. Commander Archeron imparted everything she knew into Harper up until her retirement and the two grew very close. Harper still is in contact with her today and sometimes comes to her for advice if she can’t find a solution herself. Harper spent two years serving as a Junior Science Officer aboard the Horizon before serving for another year as a Senior Science Officer. Harper was then transferred to the USS Nova and served for two years as a Senior Science Officer before being promoted to Chief Science Officer. She served as Chief Science Officer aboard the Nova for 3 years before receiving command of her first ship, the USS Sausalito.
