Personality
K’Nala can be seen as a true artist sometimes. She likes to do things. She tends to be self-expression in the most acceptable ways. Furthermore, she is pretty extroverted and can be observant, showing empathy and prospecting. K’Nala strengths lie in being charming, sensitive to other people, having a rich imagination, and being quite curious. Thought her weakness is that she is fiercely independent and wants to do everything independently, she is somewhat unpredictable and easily stressed. K’Nala is known to be overly competitive in games.
History
K’Nala is one of those ship-born children. She was born on the USS Archer. Her parents let her be a child, play around, and have fun. K’Nala was already a younger, inquisitive child, and she liked to explore the decks and was fascinated by the travels and exploration of many ships into the unknown. She was also very busy with painting and was involved in many competitive games.
She entered the academy in 2396 and was seen as a top ace pilot cadet in her classes. Furthermore, she was highly popular, but when she was ready to get assigned to a new ship, she got word that her aunt, the XO of the USS Liberty, was killed in action after a mutiny. She was thankful that the USS Jaxartes made this come to light, and she followed Captain Praugol to the USS Damascus and got accepted as their new Helmsman.
Through the Blood Dilithium Operations campaign, K’Nala was a key element of it all. Without her piloting skills, the Damascus was sure to be destroyed by either the anomalies, by the creature attacking or the random explosions. She had a conflict with Lieutenant Shew but was defended by Commander Ruslanovna. Her overall involvement in this operation got her the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and a Chief Helm position on the USS Mariner.
The Lost Fleet (2401)
Her new duty was to get the Mariner into the Gamma Quadrant space. K’Nala navigated the USS Mariner with perfect guidance through Gamma Quadrant chaotic space based on the old Vulcan records. However, she had difficulty transitioning from lower to upper decks regarding rank and position. She felt weird sitting at the senior staff table, rather than with the friends she had worked with on Damascus before. At the hands of the mutiny, K’Nala received a phaser burn on her back while trying to defend the bridge. Later on she was commended for her piloting at the skirmish of Ciatar Nebula and quickly reflects on the Battle of Farpoint. She refused a full Lieutenant promotion as she felt unprepared for it.
Pulled into the unknown (2401)
After the events of Delta Quadrant brief interaction with a horrorable creature, K’Nala found herself to be learning from the experience. She was the one that dragged the crew into this mess, and she was not going to repeat that. Her skills were used more than once when the Mariner found herself dragged into the aperture of the underspace and managed to keep the Mariner in the best possible condition in the given situation. She was forced to undertake CPR on Captain Kobahl as her heart had come to a halt. As the first officer Commander Ruslanovna was taken out of commission due to her injury and was recovering in sickbay, K’Nala had to step up her work attitude.
She managed most of the personnel interaction, sickbay transfers to the newly created hospice in the cargobay. But also keeping the senior staff and even her captain in line of getting out underspace in one piece. Eventually she was able to guide the ship out of the aperture and manages to get them back to Starbase 86. K’Nala is asked to become the executive officer of Hecate Station and K’Nala accepts this offer wholeheartly.
