Edmond Langston's Rank Record

  • Promoted to Captain

    • Time flies, and it’s hard to believe that it’s coming up to sixteen months since Edmond Langston ascended to the rank of Commander. Now, he must ascend once more. The auspicious moment has arrived for him to step into the hallowed realm of the Bravo Fleet Captaincy. Those who take this step have participated in our community with positivity, consistency and exceptional vigour. Edmond Langston is no exception. He has displayed all these traits in spades, and led the way in making Task Force 17 a particularly vibrant and lively part of the fleet!

Taking a closer look, the magnitude of Edmond Langston’s contributions can clearly be realised in his activity data. It represents the entire catalogue of competition entries, service ribbons, duty ribbons, gaming ribbons and a whole host of well deserved merit awards. Recognition is therefore in order for the breadth of Edmond Langston’s activity.

Breaking it down further, we can see some impressive medal and ribbon counts. Since his promotion to Commander on June 13th, 2021, Edmond Langston has earned a smattering of 3 Strategic Action Ribbons, 3 Duty Ribbons and 10 Service Ribbons; a welcome contribution to TF17’s ever-growing ribbon mountain. Competitions are, however, the crowning jewel here when it comes to Edmond Langston’s activity record. In the same time period he has entered a massive 33 competitions, stamping Task Force 17’s rocket seal on the Echoes of the Tkon Fleet Action, Operation: Homestead, the Stormbreaker Campaign and most recently Operation: Back to Basics. From these competitions, he has been awarded 14 Echoes of the Tkon Challenge Coins, a Starfleet Gold Star, an Action Medal with Moon Cluster, an Action Medal with Comet Cluster, 3 Action Medals with Planet Clusters and 2 Action Medals with Star Clusters; amazing work! It doesn’t stop there though, Edmond Langston has also diligently followed best practices, and earned himself an Academy New Member Program badge.

Now, here’s where the big shiny awards start! Reporting these is possibly the most fun aspect of being a TFCO. It’s great to be able to megaphone a member’s cumulative progress for the whole fleet to feast their eyes on. And what a feast this is. In his time as Commander, he has been decorated with several of Bravo Fleet’s most prestigious awards! A Starfleet Medal of Commendation adorns Edmond Langston’s medal box, followed by a mighty Star Cross. These represent exactly the kind of continuous commitment demonstrated by the very best of Bravo Fleet.

All this is absolutely commensurate with the rank of Captain. The facts speak for themselves. It is therefore a privilege to promote Edmond Langston, affording him all the privileges and satisfaction associated with said rank. Congratulations, Captain!

  • Promoted to Commander

    • Since his promotion to Lieutenant Commander back at the end of January this year, twd/Thomas has shown his continued commitment to Bravo Fleet through a range of activities and contributions. As a result of this, I wholeheartedly would like to place him forward for the promotion to the rank of Commander.

Not only did he agree to become Task Group 9’s Commanding Officer, but he has also shown his level of passion for his writing within Bravo Fleet by his great involvement in the Archanis Campaign. Since his last promotion, he has been awarded 13 Service Ribbons (that’s 3,250 words) for his writing of the USS Fearless and that also includes the joint pieces he has participated in for some of our task force released information. Getting to know the Fearless, one of the older classes of ships in our fictional land has been a lot of fun!

Not only is Thomas active with our fiction writing, but is an active player on Endeavour NX-06, serving as deputy game manager while writing for the first officer position. Prior to this, he was just the MACO leader on Endeavour and while being on this game (as well as the USS Excalibur for it recently took a hiatus) for over a year now, he has collected 7 Duty Ribbons for the posts he has contributed to. The players on both games have enjoyed writing with him and he is a great sounding board when developing storyline ideas.

His activity doesn’t just stop there, as well as being so involved in the writing element of Bravo Fleet he has kept himself involved in our competitions, this includes participating in 4 competitions, receiving two Action Medals with Star Cluster, and he has been involved with our gaming side in Star Trek: Online as shown by him winning a Strategic Action Ribbon. Thomas also received the Meritorious Service Cross in May and has continued with his efforts as a member of TF17’s senior staff by creating and judging recent TF17 themed competitions, awarding players for their activity, and being involved in the development of the Task Force’s new storyline. Finally, his contributions to a range of discussions on our Discord channel have brought him up to Level 14 on Discord!

After being in Bravo Fleet for twelve years prior to all of this, Thomas is a great example to the rest of our players in showing what it means to be a member of our great community and club! When new members have joined TF17, he has been eager to reach out to make the first “hello” and welcome them to the Task Force. He is a fantastic writer and someone who enjoys what we get up to! – Commodore Zack Marshall-Bennet, TF17CO
