A doyen of “New-Think” when it comes to challenging entrenched preconceptions of the parameters of subspace and dimensional science, Ensign Arias is both truly brilliant in her grasp of theoretical quantum physics and correspondingly obtuse with her grasp of real-world exigencies.
With the advent of a veritable Multicursal – explosion of Tetryonic energies rending apart space/time and forming a myriad of Anomalous apertures into the realm known as “Underspace”, this is a golden era of New – Frontiers for scientists such as Isidora Arriagada Arias.
When her former Academy contemporary and rival – the mawkish, but brilliant Dr Aldren Ballard – extended an invitation to join him aboard the USS Savannah at the forefront of this phenomena – you really don’t have to be a savant in Astrophysics to chart her next likely course of action.
Appearance
Petite, vivacious and brilliant – Isidora Arias is an attractive young Chilean woman in her early 20’s and whilst she always manages to find her way into a clean uniform, her abiding passion and drive for her science often may leave her with a forgotten Holo-stylus lodged in her hair or a hastily – transcribed data-pad, forgotten, in her pocket.
Personality
With bright eyes and a quick smile, Isidora Arriagada Arias speaks fast and thinks even quicker.
Fun loving and vivacious, the young Chilean woman is easy company, but just as easily distracted by the premise and promise of the dynamic concepts that she can always see writ – large in the microcosm of insignificant events as they relate to the macrocosmic skein of the Universe.
To some, she may seem skittish – disconcertingly so – but after a short time spent in her company, Isadora’s extrapolation of the cosmos seems to infect most listeners with its scope, verve and insight.
If Isidora has a fault – it’s that she finds it hard to remember that most other people cannot and do not think at the rate that she does and she can leave people behind, quite unwittingly.
History
Isidora Arriagada Arias is a woman both centered and assured of her place in the Universe.
As a child growing up in her native Valparaíso – in the country of Chile on Eart, young Isidora would ascend the hills surrounding the Ancient Port City, with her her grandfather, to escape the ambient light pollution and wonder at the majesty of the cosmos arrayed above.
As her naked – eye learned to discern near – Earth objects such as orbital mirrors, the transit of errant shuttlecraft and the tell – tale signatures of Warp – drives initiating beyond LaGrange Points – from the constellations of the Milky Way – you Isidora knew that a future in Starfleet was her only path to the Stars.

One of the few Starfleet Cadets to earn the honor of studying at the Prestigeous Sortek Academy of Science, Isidora spent a Post – Graduate – Year at the famed Vulcan Institution on Sabbatical – before finally taking up her commission and embarking aboard the Nova – Class USS Mandel as a Stellar Cartographer.
Whilst such duty is commonplace and necessary to season a young officer – the detail was far beneath her capabilities. So when the opportunity came to transfer to the USS Savannah and be afforded the opportunity to experience the Labyrinth up – close and personal – Isidora didn’t even pack.
