Akira Aurora-Talsos

Born on an old Oberth class to Admiral Abirami Aurora-Talsos and Doctor Amari Aurora-Talsos on stardate 237610-03 Akira and Amari were believed to be the first and only known offspring of a Caitian and a Betazoid.

Akira’s father, coming from an unusual Caitian family that had left their home over 2 hundred years ago. His dad had the most amazing black and orange markings. He was Admiral by name only by the time Akira and Amari were born as he had taken early retirement. His mother on the other hand was a true Betazoid and a dedicated starfleet officer. The family could never hide anything from her although they all tried.

As young kittens Akira and Amaro always wanted to join Starfleet together, Akira wanted to be a doctor like his mother and Amaro, head of science. They wanted to be posted on the same ship, and share quarters. They would always play captain and commander taking turns being captain.

It was around their 6th birthday that their Betazoid abilities started to show, this was a few years earlier then full betazoids but was believed to be because of there mixed heritage.The family moved to Betazoid to help with training their minds but Amaro never got used to hearing everything and the only thing Akira and his brother ever disagreed on was their Betazoid heritage. At the age of 18 they enlisted into Starfleet but after only 2 years Amaro just found it harder and harder to focus. They both took time away from the academy to help Amaro but after a year he sadly passed away. Akira’s mother found this harder and harder to deal with. She spent a year doing everything she could to find out why he had died, but it was determined to have been a gentical defect. At this time Akira had to undergo months of testing to ensure he didn’t have the same defect. After this Akira had decided to take another year out of the academy to help other betazoids with their abilities.

When the time came to go back to the academy he decided to focus on becoming a counsellor.
