USS Triton

Luna-class • NCC-80106 • Odyssey Heavy Explorer Squadron • Fourth Fleet • Managed by FADM Luke Duncan

To do the useful thing, to say the courageous thing, to contemplate the beautiful thing: that is enough for one man’s life

The USS Triton (NCC-80106) is a Luna-class Federation starship built in the later part of the 2370s and is the third starship to bear the name to serve the Federation. The ship is known for being one of a few ships in Starfleet to host a crew that has a wide range of species serving on it, including those that aren’t humanoid-based. The Triton has served in the Fourth Fleet for a long period of time and is now a member of the Odyssey Squadron, an expeditionary force sent to explore the deepest depths of the Delta Quadrant. Famed for her time under the command of several notable Starfleet captains, including Captain Evelynn Vangelos, Captain James Preston McCallister and most recently Captain Rio Canção. The ship’s motto is based on a quote by famed Earth poet T. S. Eliot.

Odyssey Heavy Explorer Squadron

The Odyssey Squadron is a formation centred around the USS Odyssey, which served as the prototype of the Odyssey-class heavy explorer. The squadron is assigned to the Fourth Fleet and is currently under the command of Commodore James Preston McCallister. It has been designated as a deep-space expeditionary force in the Delta Quadrant, working closely with the Delta Exploration Initiative.

Established at the end of the year 2400, the squadron received orders to proceed to the Swallow Nebula region, located beyond the Gradin Belt, to initiate re-exploration efforts. Since then, it has explored areas previously undiscovered, made contact with new species, and re-established relations with others encountered before. The Odyssey Squadron’s efforts have been vital to Starfleet’s mission in the Delta Quadrant. Through the use of hyper-subspace communication data streams, it remains in regular contact with Deep Space Nineteen, its home base.

Sat in her centre chair of the bridge of the Orion, Captain Mo’Lee Krabreii’s gaze drifted across her bridge’s subdued lighting as the nearby asteroid field gently passed on the main viewscreen. On her lap rested a PADD she’d been attempting to read for the better part of an hour; a [...]

Gathered around the aft stations of the Odyssey’s bridge, Commodore McCallister had assembled the Odyssey’s senior staff and the other squadron captains for one final mission briefing. Beyond the translucent blue of the holographic display, the faces of his officers were set with determination. [...]

“But if they learnt anything from their own history, they must know the likes of the Turei wouldn’t be prepared to let them rise up again?” Flemen remarked. The young commander was one of the few officers in the room who knew so much about the Delta Quadrant powers. In the past three years, [...]

Unholy Alliances

USS Astra, USS Bellerophon, USS Constellation, USS Constitution, USS Destiny, USS Formidable, USS Odyssey, USS Orion, USS Telemachus, USS Themis and USS Triton

The scene dissolved like smoke on the wind as the holodeck grid shimmered coldly back into place. The lines stretched endlessly around them, stark against the sudden emptiness. Breathing hard, boots scuffing against the floor, the cadets were left standing amid the hollow silence. It was over for [...]
