Lieutenant Commander Darrin Greenwood along with Lieutenant Junior Grade Elsbeth O’Reilly was assisting Lieutenant Mika Uzo with getting the array online. The startup routine was going smoothly. They would have the array back online within the hour.

Darrin was monitoring the startup routine, while Elsbeth was regulating the power consumption logsand Mika was directing traffic. Even though Darrin was the XO, he was following the lead of Mika. Along with them several members of Mika’s staff were assisting in the process.

“Let’s calibrate the array once it goes online. I want to focus on the array on Zeta Asteropes Star, let’s confirm that our array is properly aligned. I want identification on the star and cross check it with the data that we already have on file. Then I want a calculated reading of the surface of the star. ”

A short time later the array started to power up. Since the station was being recrewed Starfleet had ordered the array to be powered down since the station was only going to have a skelton crew. It took a short amount of time to transfer command from Captain Seral Nal to Commodore Elsie Coleman.

Darrin had heard that the Captain that preceded his CO was now in command of a starship. A goal he hoped to achieve someday. Darrin did not know Captain Nal, but he heard the Captain was given command of a Echelon Class Light Cruiser.

Darrin was excited for the opportunity to be the first officer of the station. The Jupiter Class station was still a pretty good command opportunity for him, and he knew that.

Elsbeth was not like her boss, her main focus was trying to prove herself worthy of this command assignment. This was her big break, a chance for her to prove to herself that she was truly worthy. Her previous assignment was aboard the USS Pantagera, a small Rhodse Island Class Scout Vessel. It was a small and cozy ship, but it never felt like home to her. She liked the crew, but she always felt like an outsider.

Mika had her own concerns to work through, but this was not really the place or time to think about them. She was given a task and she would see it through. She was still concerned why Starfleet sent her to this remote station. She felt lost and was seeking guidance from the prophets.

It was now time to fire up the array. Mika was at the main terminal. “Alright, let’s point the array at the Star.” She called out, and then went on to say. “Commander Greenwood I want you to monitor the phase variances while I have Lieutenant O’Reilly modulate the frequencies. We need to ensure the signal is calibrated correctly.” Mika called out to the other two.

“Understood.” Both officers said in unison. Everyone was now in position, and it was time for the array to be focused on the g-type star in the system.

=A=”Lieutenant Uzo to Commodore Coleman, we are ready to power up the array, request permission to initiate the fusion cores from the array?”=A= Mika called out, with a big grin on her face. Even though she was doubting her place here, she was excited to get the array online.

=A=”Proceed Lieutenant, and good luck. Coleman out.”=A= Elsie said, as the communications channel ended and Mika looked to the others.

“Here we go, sending the signal for the array to begin the start up sequence. Here we go.” Mika said, as the signal was sent.

A hum from the array started to power up. It could be heard. The Fusion reactors of the array started to come to life. “All fusion reactors are coming online, Lieutenant.”

Mika watched as her terminal started to light up with one fusion reactor after another coming online. As they did, with a warm smile she said. “Proceed to target the array’s scanners on the Star.” She ordered as she looked over to one of her crew.

The scanner started to send back telemetry. “Commander Greenwood, what are our current phase variance perimeters?” Mika asked, hoping it was low.

“Not good, we are at a 3.25% phase variance, since our last scan.” Darrin called out, he was cross referencing his logs from the previous logs.

“I’m on it.” O’Reilly said, as she started to compensate, trying to get the power levels stable. The fusion reactors were not all coming online with the same amount of power and frequency. “Recalibrating the array to compensate for the discrepancies with the fusion reactors not all powering up at the same levels.”

“It’s working, we are at 2.75% variance and lowering.” Darrin said with a warm smile on his face. The three of them were working well together.

After several minutes the array was down to 0.05% variance. Which was in the tolerance zone.

“Nicely done everyone. Now that we have the power flow regulations under control. Let’s start collecting data on the star, just to make sure the sensors are properly calibrated and aligned.” Mika ordered, with a warm smile on her face.

The crew continued to work together, and confirmed the data to verify the array was back online and operational. Now they had accomplished their initial goal.

“Way to go team.” Mika said with a big grin on her face.

=A=”Lieutenant Uzo to Commodore Coelman, the array is online and calibrated.”=A= Mika said, feeling very good. They managed to get it online within the one hour time frame.

=A=”That is wonderful news, I owe you’re team a drink tonight.”=A= Elsie said as the channel closed.

“I want to calibrate the sensors to the Ballith 6676 system.” Mika said as the scene starts to fade away.
