While Admiral Reyes races away on the USS Diligent to address the issues on Duraxis, the Advanced Science, Technology and Research Activity presents their findings related to the Underspace at a symposium on Archanis Station. After a mysterious figure arrives on the station though, people begin to grow ill. At first, it’s just a few, but its spread is rapid. Then the lab results come back, revealing a virological vector of terrifying origins, one with no known, a high virulence, and a nearly 100% mortality rate.

In an effort to contain the spread before it completely overtakes the station, and to prevent it from spreading beyond, the station’s command staff enacts desperate containment measures. Now, as healthcare workers aboard the station fight against an indefatigable enemy, the race is on aboard the USS Polaris to find a cure. But then its own crew members begin to show symptoms too. The clock is ticking. If a cure cannot be found before it spreads into every nook and cranny of the station and the ship, when the USS Diligent returns home, there’ll be no one left alive.
