The newly formed crew, and class known as Pilgrim Flight, arrived at the bridge, amazed with what they were seeing, the ship was top-notch and in great condition. Lots of systems were automated, but there was enough for some self-control. The cadets spread out to investigate their new positions, as Hefaam and Liss had made their way to the medical bay. K’Nala had her hands on her back as she slowly walked in the direction of the helmsman seat, showing pure calm and professionalism as her tail was wrapped around her middle.

A loud sniff was heard as some looked at the direction, seeing Eli looking pleased after he smelled the leather. “It’s new” He confirmed and looked at the interactive console that immediately recognized him. “Fancy” He started to dive into the schematic of the protostar.

Rolling her eyes, Alara looked at her console “It’s not a strong ship, but it can hold itself if needed” in her voice was a recognition of disappointment and yet curiosity.

“This ship will not see any combat, you arrre to face the realism in the comforrrt of Hecate Squadrrron protective blanket” K’Nala sat down at her seat. It has been some time since she had touch these kinds of controls, and she did miss it. She took a deep breath, letting herself get into the zone of being a pilot once more.

“It would be standard procedure to avoid any combat related situations, it is, as the Lieutenant stated, we are not here to fight battles. We are here to learn the unknown parameters of the universe and decipher its unknown factors” Verrik supported K’Nala motion to avoid war, he was more interested in gathering information that the Grim Wall had to give.

They sat near the command center, as Shaari looked at Verrik and then back at Alara knowing that a pointless discussion was brewing, “How about we just focus on the moment.” Raising their arms to calm down the moment, “If we get into a situation where we need to protect ourselves, we need to figure it out anyway. If we don’t, we go our merry way and do our assignment”

“The chances that we will encounter enemy forces are about 15%, it will raise if the Klingon Empire choses to go into a civil war” Rhixia didn’t even bother to look up, but throw in the stats of data she was working on at her console. Trying to get the latest information from Fourth Fleet about the region and diplomatic status with the Klingon Empire.

Sitting down in his chair, Threx smirked to himself, hearing the leather crack under him as he feels the comfort of the chair. “This sits well” He remarks whispering to himself, not getting involved with the discussion at hand as he suddenly sees almost everyone look at him “What? Is something on my face?”

K’Nala truly wonders if this was a smart approach, but she rolled with it “Yourrr command, yourrr orderrrs cadet” She looked over her shoulder at Threx “The assignment of field trrrip has begun” With that she looked back at her console, hoping that this would be enough for the young cadet to realize it is his time to put the move.

Sitting straight up in his chair, Threx nods trying to remember what to do next, “Hmmm… Helm prepare undocking process”

“Understood” K’Nala stated crisp and direct as she moved her hands over the new console, she couldn’t deny it, it felt good to touch a brand-new console. “Hecate Station Flight Operations have clearrred us for undocking process, undocking from porrrt”

Threx saw on the view screen the Eclipse powering up and moving slowly away from Hecate Station. It was an exciting moment for him, but his proud moment was broken by a cough at his side “Right, uhmmm status report, helm plot a course to nav point 1 to clear Hecate Station space”

Taking a deep breath, Alara couldn’t believe that Threx was forgetting basic bridge duties “Security systems internal and tactical external are green”

“Cargo check, personnel check, operational status we are checked green” Jorven was cheery, who would blame him it was their first task in a ship.

Tapping on the console checking the schematics of the protostar, a hum came from his side. Eli looked at Threx with questionable eyes “Oh…right” He looked back at the console, giving it a swipe up “Engines are in good condition, core is burning hot, we are okay to go”

Blinking a few times, burning hot was not a term Threx would connect with being okay, but the terminology of Eli was puzzling to him anyway. Looking at Verrik “Cadet Verrik, status?”

A brow went up as Verrik looked at Trex “The scientific systems are performing 100% percentage in acceptable parameters. I would like to perform some scans with the assistants of Cadet Relkar to finetune them.” Verrik did find some equipment to be incorrect by a few percentages, and it could mean a lot of data lost if they wouldn’t be corrected.

Giving a nod “Go ahead” Threx looked at the screen seeing they reach the first nav point “Helm warp to the designated area of the Grim Wall” He tried to be as respectfully as possibly could, he was actually ordering a Lieutenant and Dean to do his commands.

Looking over her shoulder, “You mean maximum impulse, if I go to warrrp right now that would be a brief jump that could put the ship on emergency break. Meaning most of you would fly off yourrr chairrr” K’Nala knew that this is a basic mistake younger command officers and pilots would make, the distance was too short to make use of the warp to be very effective.

“Right, that is correct, Lieutenant. Please maximum impulse to designation” Threx corrected him on guidance of his dean. This was a struggling feeling, a feeling of being talked down as a child, but he knew better that this was to teach him. Better on the Eclipse, then in another starship. The Eclipse moved away from Hecate Station, moving towards the unpredictable Grim Wall.

It didn’t take them long as they arrived and began their task of making scans, correction to the systems and getting used to the ship. They were out of scanning reach of Hecate Station, moving pass the Grim Wall borders as Verrik was scanning the dense asteroid fields “Fascinating” he muttered under his breath.

K’Nala was happy that everyone was finding their place in these times, Hecate Station had endured quite a bit and so did the former crew of Mariner. But then, she felt a chill going down her spine. Feeling the hairs on her skin react to something. Something she knows in her bones, her eyes refocus on the console, nothing. They looked at the screen, nothing. There was something very familiar about this static feeling, this chill.

Then her pupils dilate, and she realizes “HOLD ON” The cadets didn’t have time to react, as K’Nala puts the ship on full power backwards. The Eclipse move backwards, for a few hundred meters it was successfully, but then it slows down. K’Nala cusses as her eyes looked at the screen, seeing the anomaly she had feared since Mariner had appeared right in front of her. She hits the console communication, “BRACE BRACE BRACE.”

A large Underspace aperture appears right in front of them, the dense asteroids of the Grim Wall getting dragged into it, as Eclipse with all its might was dragged into the void. One second the aperture was there, then it was gone.

And so was Eclipse….
